Three passionate musicians, born and bred in the great city of Napoli have come together to prove once and for all the the tradition of Neapolitan song writing is still as moving and relevant as it has ever been. Irene Lupe Scarpato (voice) Marcello Smiglante Gentile (mandolin, mandoloncello) and Gian Marco Libeccio (guitar) formed Suonno d’ajere (sound of yesterday) in 2016 and have since been delighting audiences in Italy and abroad with their fresh interpretations of both beloved and unknown songs from this rich and passionate repertoire. They are the recipients of numerous awards and much critical acclaim for their performances of existing songs as well as their own original compositions.
